False myths about CBD

As CBD and its use for medicinal purposes become more popular, so do the myths about it. That's why we want to share with you the most common misconceptions about CBD and CBD products . In this way, you will have real knowledge that will allow you to debunk false information.

1. CBD acts in the same way in each person

The way CBD works in your body can vary based on individual health, endocannabinoid system, and genetics. Its function can even be linked to the purposes for which you use CBD. For example, some use it to improve mood and reduce anxiety , others may use it to reduce symptoms related to physical problems. Also, the number of cannabinoid receptors in each person's body can be different . Therefore, CBD acts on each endocannabinoid system in a unique way.

2. CBD is addictive

Another common myth about CBD is related to the misconception that "it is an addictive compound." But the World Health Organization (WHO) rejected it. Through the report, the WHO confirms that CBD does not have any addictive effect . Also, in 2017, the World Anti-Doping Agency removed CBD from the list of prohibited compounds, because cannabidiol has no risk of addiction. This has allowed athletes from many countries to use CBD due to its sporting benefits.

3. CBD is not safe

According to the WHO, CBD is not addictive or harmful to health and has potential therapeutic properties.

The WHO stated in a 2017 report that CBD is a natural compound that offers safety and good tolerance and has not been linked to any adverse effects on public health.

At the same time, Britain's National Institute for Health and Care Excellence suggests that cannabidiol is a healthier alternative in terms of side effects compared to many other drugs.

4. CBD gets high

Another common myth about CBD is the belief that this compound can get us high. However, the reality is that this is not the case with CBD-based products.

The classic psychoactive effects of cannabis are attributed to THC , the cousin of CBD.

It should be noted that unlike THC, CBD does not interact with CB1 receptors. This means that it is not capable of producing the famous "high". However, it can produce a feeling of well-being because CBD stimulates anandamide, a compound that can activate CB1 receptors at a much lower level than THC.

5. CBD is only produced from marijuana

It is a common myth that CBD only comes from the marijuana plant. But the reality is that the CBD that is sold in most parts of the world comes from hemp .

Don't feel bad if you have this concept in mind. It is normal to confuse both plants because they are close relatives, although they are not the same. The main aspect that differentiates them is the concentration of THC. Many current laws establish that CBD must come from hemp and have a concentration of no more than 0.3% THC, and in some countries (as in our case) it is limited to 0.2% THC.
