DID YOU KNOW THAT CBD HAS BEEN BANNED IN ITALY?
Italy has taken a controversial turn in its policy on industrial hemp. The government has issued a decree classifying hemp-derived products, including CBD, as narcotics. This decision goes against European regulations and has generated strong opposition both within and outside the country.
The measure jeopardizes a rapidly expanding industry, which generates more than €1.9 billion annually and employs around 22,000 people in Italy. Small producers, specialty stores, and legal businesses could be forced to close their doors.
Faced with this uncertain outlook, many professionals in the sector are already exploring a move to countries with more open regulations, such as the Czech Republic. At the same time, several organizations have initiated legal action to try to stop these regulations.
Are we facing a historic setback or an opportunity to rethink the future of the sector in Europe?
